'A Higher Ground’ brings design and lifestyles from ‘ground’ level gardens up to the balcony. Paving, garden bed and planting design which feature on ground level gardens will be raised up to A Higher Ground, also allowing a space to grow and cook food, dine and relax with family and friends.

In the balcony garden, ground cover meets the edges of paving, a design element which features in some 'ground level' gardens.

The garden features some best practices for balcony gardens.

Light weight pots and planters from The Balcony Garden have been used, along with engineered light weight Rooflite soil by C.Fulton.

The balcony features limestone paving by Better Exteriors, laid in a random length pattern to provide more visual interest. The paving is installed on a VersiJack pedestal system, allowing less disturbance to any balcony waterproofing membranes, allowing flexibility around cable, drainage and lighting systems to run underneath the paving and enables the paving to be levelled if the surface is uneven or sloped. The ground cover has been designed as 'tiles' which fit into the pedestal system.

The pavers and ground cover are completely removeable if the original balcony surface needs to be reinstated or if you move to a new apartment!

'A Higher Ground' is also a space to grow food for cooking.

The Ooni Karu 2 Multi-Fuel Pizza Oven (with your choice of wood, charcoal or gas burner) makes delicious flame-cooked pizzas in as little as 60 seconds. It's small footprint is perfect for small gardens. Edibles are mixed in with planting and fresh ingredients can be harvested to create meals to enjoy with family and friends.
